I guess I should change the name of the blog, but I'm not going to. I'll just continue the adventure that we started a little over two years ago when we left Virginia for Alaska.
The change of command ceremony will be on the 18th of June at 10:00, so we'll probably leave Fort Greely by 11:00. I'll be sad to watch the kids say goodbye to the friends they've made and there are some friends here that I'll be sad to say goodbye to myself. But, we'll move along to the next adventure and plan to stay in touch with them. It has been an educational and interesting two years and we've had experiences the kids will remember forever, I hope.
So, bookmark my blog and I'll post pictures and notes from along the way when we have internet service. We'll be driving through Canada on the Alaskan Highway with a copy of The Milepost. We're hoping to catch some baseball games in California and stop to visit Steve's folks in New Mexico on the way. We should arrive in Virginia, quite exhausted, in mid-July.
